Cat Sculpture

Artist Statement

Cats emulate an enigmatic nature. They slink and stalk their prey with a grace few animals possess. I am fascinated with a cat’s ability to appear as if they are liquid form. Cats exhibit a fluid movement when navigating space and accommodating their bodies to interior spaces. My observation of this mysterious being inspired by a sculpture that demonstrates a sense of flowing, graceful movement. The texture I replicated simulates the texture of a cat’s fur, and the shapes mimic the organic and animate nature of a cat.
